…..but he prefers to sleep in the toy box!

Been busy for the last wee while…changing jobs, holidays & enjoying the summer etc and things aren’t going to get any quieter. For a while now we have been thinking about getting a little kennel buddy for Rufus and last Monday we took the plunge and bought another dog. Zack is a fine working cocker spaniel and is getting use to his new home just nicely. Rufus’ nose was out of joint for about 5 minutes before realising that this wee fella is here to stay and, actually, he’s quite good fun!

Although this looks rough, believe me, Zack gives as good as he gets and it’s usually Rufus who squeals first!
I came back from china two weeks ago and have been busy with a new job and have only just had a chance to look through the hundreds of photos I took. Here’s a peek at a fraction of them…

Been a bit busy over the last few weeks. In a week I travel to China for a holiday so I decided to clear our the memory card on my camera and here’s what I found…..

I love Inverness. My best friend lives there so we often pop in the car and head north for a few days. Inverness has plenty to do but being dog owners one of our favourite pass times involves exploring the numerous woodland walks and watching the hounds exhaust themselves…..

Both Rufus and Marco suffered a bath when we got home after their spell of cooling off in the muddiest puddle in the world!

As the west coast of Scotland takes a battering from Mother Nature we awoke this morning to clear blue skies and bright sunshine. A trip to Balmedie Beach was the plan for the day. Despite looking like a nice day outside it was very windy and bitterly cold. But that didn’t stop Rufus from having a good time though!

Stonehaven: great fish n chips, cosy pubs in along the harbour front, stunning views and plenty of wildlife – just dont get your head stuck!

If you are local to Aberdeen and stuck for something to do I would strongly recommend a trip to Fraserburgh and the Museum of Scottish Lighthouses. We visited today and although it was bitterly cold it was very worthwhile. A small admission fee gains you access to the museum and a 45 minute guided tour. Rodger was our tour guide and provided a very detailed and humerous insight into the history of the lighthouse. It was nice to be taken back in time by someone who was very well informed and so enthusiastic about the subject.

As this is the shortest day of the year I wanted to capture the sunrise and sunset. The sunrise photo’s were taken from the top of Brimmond Hill, Aberdeen and the sunset photo’s were taken from Slacks Wood, also Aberdeen.

Unfortunately the sunset was not as dramatic as the sunrise
